Marketing Your Book – Extend your book to increase opportunities and profits

By

Hair extensions are just that – real or synthetic lengths of hair that are “added” to your regular hair to add length and volume.  Used by celebrities and others who have thousands of dollars for this type of cosmetic work, they can provide a beautiful hair re-do when needed.

What do hair extensions have to do with your book? Maybe more than you think.  Your book is much more than a book. A book is like a seed.  Inside of the seed lay much potential.  Planting the seed, adding water, nutrients, and care, the seed can grow to become a beautiful flower or tree.  The same thing applies to your book.

Just like hair extensions, your book can be extended.  Its value can be expressed in different ways and has the potential to grow into a business in and of itself. Just like the seed, it can be nurtured to grow into much more – limited only by your creativity. How can you “extend” it? How can you create more volume?  And, how can you cultivate this into more opportunities and profit?

There are a number of things that you can create from your book. Each of them provides another opportunity for increasing sales.  Workbooks, study guides, teleseminar series, podcasts, and coaching programs that use the book as the “course curriculum” are just a few examples of how you can extend your book.  Not only can you increase the length of time you can continue to sell your book, but also you create the potential for selling more copies.  Today, spend a little time thinking about the ways in which you might extend the value of your book.
